SOPA 5 YEAR BASH
What a night! Marzipan Marzipan, Agata & Me, A.K. Hansn (twice!), KURvE (as a duo), Leonard Davies, Resident Tourist (as a guest on a few songs) and DJ Bjarke Svendsen (Atlas)! What more could you want. We collected some great live videos and photos for your viewing and listening pleasure here: http://www.sopa.dk/features/021.htm (as well as a rather funny video greeting from Berlin).

COMING LIVE SHOWS
Another big thing is going down soon. On December 15th we will host yet another SOPA Night. This will be at the more than 100-year old house/venue Antje Öklesund in Berlin. On stage you will find Marzipan Marzipan, Sister Chain & Brother John, Leonard Davies and at least a few others. We'll will let you know before it happens!
Sister Chain & Brother John is playing at Kugelbahn in Berlin (Wedding) this coming Friday, October 28th. On December 9th Marzipan Marzipan will follow suit a the very same venue (which has a small old school bowling alley!).
But before then, Sister Chain & Brother John will play a rare gig on British soil. On November they are guests at the Rita Lynch "Crack On" Album Launch at the venue The Thunderbolt in Bristol. If you're around, don't miss out.

GIRLS LOVE RALLIE PREVIEW
We are so close (so close it's almost painful) to releasing the new pop masterpiece by Girls Love Rallie. The album is called "Son Of Rock'n'Roll" and features ten brand new songs. The whole shebang was produced by Rune Hedeman (formerly of the band 1234). Dare we say, that SOPA is releasing a record with serious hit potential? In a perfect world, in one word: Yes! ;-)
Rallie has recorded a video (filmed in the garden) with an acoustic version of the song "The Loving Season". Beautiful one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0uhmI11Ma0. For another preview don't forget the new song "Remember Uncle August" which is available for free through the "SOPA CINCO" compilation: http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com/track/remember-uncle-august-previously-unreleased .

A.K. HANSN ALBUM ON THE WAY
The coming months will be busy for SOPA. Not only albums by Girls Love Rallie and Sister Chain & Brother John. No, A.K. Hansn will be releasing his first album in his own name (having previously released many fine albums etc. with Singvogel and Vildensky). The title is "Heroicus Interruptus". What to expect? Well, so far the bits heard taste of warped electronics, some menacing beats and dark tales of the unknown heroes of the suburbs. But most of all, expect the unexpected.
To hear a bit of Mr. Hansn's other solo works check out "SOPA CURIOSA" and "SOPA EXCLUSIVO" mentioned in the next news item.

MASSIVE FREE DOWNLOAD
We continue our work with making the entire SOPA catalogue available for download at Bandcamp. More precisely at the address: http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com. The one-artist releases cost money, while all the compilations are free to download for zero euro, dollar or kroner... or whatever amount you might choose to donate after all. The amount of talent you get here is amazing. Be sure to check them out, if you haven't already.
We have just uploaded the 22-track "SOPA CURIOSA" compilation:
http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com/album/various-artists-sopa-curiosa
As well as the 8-track compilation EP "SOPA EXCLUSIVO":
http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com/album/various-artists-sopa-exclusivo
And don't forget that the 25-track "SOPA CINCO" anniversary compilation is still there:
http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com/album/various-artists-sopa-cinco
We have also just uploaded 9's album "Eponymous" alongside all the other releases by the SOPA artists:
http://soundofperpetualastonishment.bandcamp.com/album/9-eponymous
And yes, you you're right... the ONLY release missing on the Bandcamp page now is the mammoth 44-track compilation "SOPA DELICIOSA". Rest assured, it will be with you shortly. Free as well.
We will also make a non-SOPA release available for download very soon: Sister Chain & Brother John's great debut album "Darkness To Warm Your Heart" (And please note: Only very few copies of the LP remain in stock anywhere at the moment. So vinylfans, get one while you can).

SISTER CHAIN & BROTHER JOHN BOMBARD SWEDEN
Sweden had it coming. It really did. In September Sister Chain & Brother John played a total of five shows in just three days at the Live At Heart Festival in Örebro, Sweden - the Scandinavian answer to the South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Texas. They played a café, a bar, the opening ceremony, an outdoor stage and even in a church!
Gert's photoblog caught the couple outdoors: http://blogg.passagen.se/muranos/entry/musikfest
Örebro TV filmed them (along with others) at the opening ceremony (approx. 3 minutes in): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il-ILZT7M_Q
And a quick audience member shot them (with lots of natural reverb) in the church: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7n9zgsOYvY

FRIENDS HAVING FUN
Bleubird
(featured on a few SOPA compilations) has a lot going on these days. His new album "Cannonball" is coming out this February (http://bleubird.org/cannonball). But being so productive, he of course also has an album out this month with his homie Thesis Sahib called "Fuck". Together they go under the name Les Swashbuckling Napoleons (the coolest band name!). Two tracks can be heard at http://ugsmag.com/2010/11/les-swashbuckling-napoleons-bleubird-thesis-sahib-edison-fuck . And if that wasn't enough he's touring Japan with his American/Canadian/Japanese outfit Triune Gods this November (https://www.facebook.com/triunegods). And he's finally coming to Europe touring with fellow rapper Astronautilus this coming January/February. If you want him to play in your town, feel free to send an e-mail back to SOPA and we will pass on the info to the right folks.
Bleubird's label Endemik Music has also released a 7-inch with Heliodrome who was also featured on one of SOPA's compilations. Read more at http://www.endemikmusic.com .

See you out there!
